*Edit in light of reply - please note owner has ignored the black mould on the bedroom walls (see last photos) as well as the rest. I went to use the pool only for the gardener to start strimming the grass right next to it with an electric strimmer, complete with extension lead across the lawn. We booked it BECAUSE it was out of town. This man is a charlatan that makes things up to suit himself. * The photos speak for themselves. Do not stay here, there are many better options. Owner blames guests for any issues. We are having to go through credit card chargeback now as he is not releasing the room for sale or refunding us despite notice of check out. Your only option is to book elsewhere at your own cost. Black mould, absolutely disgusting. Broken tiles in bathroom with sharp edges, working next to the pool with electric power tools while pool was open. Diving board not secure on one side.

The room was fine, but for the price we paid I kinda awaited more. You cannot use the kitchen, breakfast was not included and for us as a pilgrims on Camino it was not so good. Also supermarket is far away. But the pool was cool, although it was raining so we didn't use.

The guest house is located 10-15 mins by car from Coimbra city center. It is nicelly decorated on what I think is the owners style. We stayed inside the house on the 2nd floor so keep that in mind if you have limited mobility ( 2 flight of stairs at least) The rooms were spacious and the bed is really big ( I could fit my 3 kids and myself in it) and the wc was decent. Ac and TV are a plus and worked perfectly. The unfortunate part was the room cleaning and even though I followed the rules and left my keys for cleaning I was unfortunate to not have it cleaned and ended up cleaning it myself. It was only properly cleaned on my 3rd day there. On my mother's bedroom the same happened so the cleaning part would have the lowest scoring. The owners even though available were not properly the nicest and were borderline rude and what I think racist. I felt that in 3 different occasions from both the owner and his wife so it was not a only time thing. The outdoors are nice and spacious, the kids have a small playground and the swimming pool allows you to refresh on those hotter days. Limited parking inside but when parking second hand you can leave the keys to allow the owner to move the car. Overall the place is nice but like I said my experience was not the most welcoming one, I saw them with different posture with other people so give a try and get your own experience.
