Klein Matterhorn

Wonderful old vibe cozy small hotel between the mountains. Marco is the best host you can find. So warm and kind in his demeanor. Just in front of Randa station, 20 mins to Zermaat.

Owner is very rude and disrespectful, as a group our guide told us we could leave our bags here. Upon coming for collection 3 days later owner threw a fit about tourists being disrespectful when all we did was ask if we could put 2 water bottles in the bin and continued this rant for 10 minutes. Food comes in extremely small portions and is very stale and is not fresh. Also is very over priced as a small sandwich barely the size of my palm cost 6 francs. However is well located as is right next to the train station, perhaps under new management hotel could prosper.

We stayed at Hotel Klein Matterhorn and absolutely loved it! We had a spacious 2-bedroom apartment with a big bathroom, a separate toilet, and a large kitchen that had everything we needed — including a fridge. The apartment was spotless, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Honestly, it was the best night’s sleep I’ve had during our 8 days in Switzerland! The owner was such a wonderful person. He personally showed us our apartment and explained everything clearly. The service felt warm and welcoming throughout our stay. We also appreciated the free parking and free WiFi. The hotel is conveniently located right next to the Randa train station, which made visiting Zermatt so easy. We took the train from Randa to Zermatt, and the owner even allowed us to leave our car parked at the hotel for free until we returned in the afternoon — such a kind gesture! On top of all that, our apartment had amazing mountain views, which made our stay even more memorable. Overall, we couldn’t have been happier. We will definitely return and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.
