Travelodges are on the lower end of similar hotel chains, in my experience, and I wasn't expecting a great experience in this one, based on some pretty scary reviews I read, but it wasn't bad: the room was clean and functional, the location was central and it was good value for money. I did not interact much with the staff but the receptionist on arrival was friendly. The down sides: only 30 min free wifi (standard to Travelodge but pretty mean by today's standards), the building is pretty ugly and I could hear music (fortunately pretty faint from my room) until 3 a.m. on one of the 3 nights I stayed there - I had read something about a nightclub underneath/nearby in some reviews so I guess that was it; it was not critical but I could have done without it

I was a bit concerned about how noisy this place would be after reading some reviews after booking, but to be honest I didn't find it too bad. As we stayed on a Saturday night there was some noise but it was very quiet by the early hours into the morning, location is very central and the nearest carpark is a short walk away. Staff were very pleasant and friendly.

Worst nights sleep I have ever had nightclub noise until 3am. Managed to change room for second night thanks to the really nice reception staff. There was not enough towels and no floor mat in the bathroom which meant the floor flooded and was very slippery.Would not recommend this hotel to anyone lots of people seem to be living here and a body was found on our level the day we arrived even though the police were still there the floor was not closed off and we found out about it on social media it was very upsetting.
