Hotel Vijanera

If you like your hotels with a side of fat-shaming, this is the place for you. On check-in, the receptionist took one look at my passport and commented—unprompted—that I looked “a lot thinner” in the photo compared to now. I found this not only rude and offensive, but completely unnecessary. I’m still waiting for an apology from the hotel. The room itself was pleasant enough, but unfortunately let down by several issues: the shower didn’t drain properly, the air conditioning wasn’t working, and our keycard stopped working entirely. Worse still, all staff had left the premises by 5pm. When we reported the faulty key, we were told to retrieve a master key left behind the reception desk—this key could access every room in the hotel. That’s a serious security concern and a completely unacceptable approach to guest safety. A disappointing experience overall—poor service, unprofessional conduct, and serious lapses in security.

Best stay on our Camino, super friendly and relaxed team who take care of you and are happy to chat like old friends. Bargain offers on drinks after a long hike, outdoor tables to chill on, food was lovely, took the recommendations from the manager it was all incredible, we loved the cauliflower 😋. For the morning great coffee and tortilla. Great surfing on the doorstep I’ll be back one day! This place is fantastic !

This review is for the restaurant and food: WOW! We really feel like we may have had the best burger of our lives. I had the best tomato salad ever and I would only return to the region if I could eat there again, otherwise, I will be too sad to not have that fabulous meal again. Oh, and the surroundings, locals and lively staff make the restaurant even more treasured. Thank you for having us!
