Camping Viveiro

I had a very pleasant time at this campsite. I stayed one night on a long cycle tour and everything was correct and as expected - plenty of space, clean toilets, good showers and a secure environment. Other people there seemed quite happy too - it's a popular place. There are some strange reviews on Google saying the owners/managers are unwelcoming and aggressive, but that's absolutely untrue. I don't know if the place has perhaps changed hands recently, but the two women I spoke to on the phone and when I arrived were incredibly friendly and good humoured. They made me feel very welcome from the moment I phoned to reserve and gave me a good pitch for my tent. The campground is an inclusive and relaxed environment, and I couldn't have asked for more.

As cycle tourists we were shown to the worst pitch on the site (no 21) bare soil with stones. When I requested another pitch, one of the many free grass pitches, the staff became aggressive but did let us move. But placed the next lot of cycle tourists onto pitch 21! Did not feel welcome at all. After 2 months of cycle touring, this is the only campsite we would definitely not go back to.

Plots was fine. Women in resepcion was fine but her husband(?) didn’t even talk when we was leaving, very rude. Place was quite noisy because of football arena and parkingplace for it. Bathrooms was ok. All people was having a ”bad day” and that wasn’t fun. City was near but was quite messy.
