Pension Torfhaus Wander- und Bikestation

Excellent value for money! The rooms are very clean, and the owners are incredibly friendly. Unfortunately, there's no TV in the room, but given the location, it's not really necessary. The food is inexpensive, but the selection isn't huge. Breakfast is delicious, even including fresh eggs from their own chickens. I'd definitely stay here again!

A very pleasant stay in a peaceful setting. We received a very warm welcome and were looked after with equal warmth! We enjoyed meals in a friendly atmosphere at a great price-performance ratio, and the rooms were spotlessly clean. All in all: simply wonderful. Thank you again!

Absolute disappointment! After choosing this place as a lunch stop on two winter hikes in Oberholzhau, despite signs suggesting it, including opening hours, it was still closed each time!!! And in this area, there really aren't any restaurants next to each other; you'd walk for miles, and then it was all in vain. A closing day would have been acceptable (if it had at least been advertised), but it was simply arbitrarily closed, and several hungry families stood outside, looking puzzled and outraged, especially since the lights were on inside and the food board offered a small but very appealing selection. An unfriendly Czech woman with a mouthful of gold teeth, who spoke poor German, rudely turned away those waiting, saying that no one was there...and that happened two days in a row, since it just so happened that we passed by there twice in a row. All in all, they probably don't even wait for guests there, and this in the middle of the winter holidays.
