The landscape was beautiful and the cow bells rang peacefully. The food and service was amazing. Fresh and cooked on a wood stove. Could not have been any better. The rooms were cozy and modest. There could've been more power outlets, but I totally understand do to it's semi-remote location. Overall the Chalet-Hotel Schwarzwaldalp was an amazing place to stay at in my trip to Switzerland

I’ve been coming to Rosenlaui (Bernese Oberland) for years, and from a nature perspective it remains one of the most beautiful areas in Switzerland. The scenery is absolutely stunning in every season, whether hiking in summer or walking up to Grosse Scheidegg in winter. It’s truly a special place. Last year I did the winter walk up to Grosse Scheidegg several times and sledded down afterwards, a fantastic experience. Naturally, I planned to do the same again this year on February 22. According to the official website, everything was marked green: – Sledding track prepared – Sled taxi running every 30 minutes starting 10:30 Perfect, I thought. I even planned to walk up early. Well… not quite. It looked like the sledding track hadn’t been prepared for over a week, if at all!!! Sledding was simply not possible. Deep snow everywhere. No visible grooming. By 1:00 PM, not a single sled taxi had run. The vehicles were parked down in the field, and judging by the complete absence of tracks in the snow, it didn’t look like they had operated at all, possibly not even once this winter. Unfortunately, I wasn’t the only disappointed visitor. Several families with excited kids had made the long trip, paid the CHF 8 parking fee, and ended up with absolutely nothing in return. If you advertise winter operations and maintain a website with live status indicators, please keep the information accurate. People plan their day around it. Without proper equipment, deep snow isn’t exactly a great alternative. The place itself is still breathtaking, but reliable communication would make the experience match the landscape.

Food was tasty 😍 Service was friendly 👍 View was amazing on the mountains with fresh air 🤗 Saddly the "haslichuche" was not avaible and the price for a meal without the meat (veggie) was same... But anyway i would still recommand it for a nice walk around the scenery and a beautiful lunch in the "chalet" 😁
