Stayed a single night as part of a long, coastal walk. Was upgraded free to a larger room- a bungalow on the ground floor. This was nice and clean. Pool was clean and fresh but the pool area wasn't cleared early and yesterday's leftovers and glasses were still there in the morning. The seating area also had bits of rubbish and cigarette buts scattered around. Generally felt a little uncared for despite the amazing location - a very relaxed ambience for sure. Service was friendly and pleasant.

As crazy as it might seem that I’ve given this place five stars in the 3 different categories (Rooms, Service, Location) I genuinely had a fantastic time and it was highlight of my experience in Lulworth. The rooms were charming and could make anyone feel warm even on a day with poor conditions. The service was welcoming and friendly but not over bearing. The location was right between the coast and the tourist welcome centre making it a good point to get anywhere. And with more options on the menu than just fish, it accommodated the dietary requirements of my friend group. I’ve seen this part of the coast now but might just wanna come back for Rudds x

Stayed in Pool Room 4-5 September. It was perfect for our needs - a clean place to use as a base to explore the area. The room is very small but worked for us. The bed linen and towels were clean and fresh. There was a tv (it worked) and tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits. A humidifier was also in the room. The wardrobe is small and could do with an extra rail or drawer unit in it. It wasn't a problem for us because of our short stay but it might be a problem if staying longer. The bathroom is definitely in need of some TLC. The shower cubicle is small and in need of some scrubbing! The hot water is scalding, perhaps a mixer tap would be better? The complimentary toiletries are good however. We enjoyed drinks from the bar on our own private decking overlooking the pool. We didn't use the pool but it did look inviting and lots of people were having a great time in it! The breakfast we had in Rudds was excellent. There was a choice of juices, fresh fruit, yoghurt and granola which we helped ourselves to and a menu of hot food which included smoked salmon and scrambled egg. We both had the full English with tea and toast and it was absolutely delicious. All members of staff were lovely - friendly and helpful. The Cove itself is breathtakingly beautiful with lots of walks nearby. We had a lovely ice cream at the kiosk by the steps to the beach and enjoyed a rib boat trip to Durdle Door with the boat people on the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rudds and would definitely stay there again.
