Sawmills Free House

We had a lovely stay at Sawmills. Manager Ryan was extremely friendly and welcoming, which made us feel comfortable straight away. The accommodation is very dog-friendly, which was perfect for us, and the room was warm, inviting, and had everything we needed. The restaurant meals were excellent, and the staff really went above and beyond — nothing was too much trouble. As we were staying as a couple, a double duvet would have been preferable to two single duvets, but this is only a small suggestion to make an already lovely stay even better. Overall, a wonderful experience and we would definitely recommend staying here.

Absolutely loved our meal this evening and the food was superb. The new manager, Ryan, is such a welcoming person who has a brilliant way with guests. A terrific atmosphere and a wonderful night. Thanks to the usual staff as well of course. We’ll be back again soon! PS - this is a review for the restaurant and not as guests staying overnight hence the lack of stars for the rooms etc

Absolutely amazing vegan roast dinner, beautiful rural location and wonderful attentive service. The staff were so lovely and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cater for our requirements. Highly recommended and I'm really looking forward to having a cold beer here on the terrace in the summer months. See you again soon!
