The Happy Pig Guesthouse

My daughter and I traveled across Western Ireland for 2 weeks, we stayed at many bed and breakfasts. The Happy Pig was hands down my favorite. After a day of traveling, it was so lovely to be greeted by Irma and a hot cup of tea and treats, the rooms are very comfortable and clean and quiet, in a peaceful area of Kenmare, with only an easy 7 minute walk to the center of town. I stayed for two nights and the breakfasts were incredible, Irma and Claudia are very skilled cooks, I felt like I was in a 5 star restaurant. I top it all off, Irma has this adorable little chihuahua named Miss Pickle that greets all the guests.

A delightful, cozy stay. We arrived in Kenmare on a rainy evening and the Happy Pig was such a welcoming space to walk into. Our room was nice, with a comfy bed and amazing shower with all the hot water we could want. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and fresh, and they even provided gluten free options and oat milk for me, having been given a heads up about my dietary restrictions. A special thank you to Irma not just for her hospitality, but for providing us a charmingly illustrated map of the area and recommending the Kerry Cliffs. We did change our driving plan to go to the Kerry Cliffs and they were spectacular! Thank for encouraging us to go.

Claudia and Irma were nothing but the best hosts for our short stay. Accommodation was great with a warm welcome and very close walk to Kenmare. Breakfast was top class as well with ample choice and beautiful home made food. Will 100% return and recommend to anyone visiting kenmare.
