Had a nice night with my husband. Easy checking, room was spacious and clean .Bed was comfy. We used the spa facilities before dinner, unfortunately there was a problem with their heating so cold in changing rooms and shower water was cold. We had dinner in restaurant food was ok but basic menu. Lovely little bar to have fee drinks in afterwards and comfy couches ..Had a good sleep that night. We went for breakfast in morning, it was a buffet style. So disappointed the cooked breakfast food was stone cold .Coffee was look warm. We would stay again but eat elsewhere

We stayed here again 2026 for a family outing to see Santa close by. Woodlands experience. A party of 11 kids and 15 adults. The hotel staff from bar staff , reception and the staff who co ordinated the booking and the logistics of the stay and meals were amazing. We had the conservatory set up for us to enjoy our dinner and later set for us to enjoy cheese platters and drinks while our family had an exchange of secret Santa presents. My husband dressed as Santa and my grandson as buddy the elf the hotel were amazing letting us enjoy this experience. Everything we asked for was accomodated with ease. The meals were great and served when we needed them kids were well attended to with their likes and dislikes. The pool was a bonus great size and lovely and clean with a smashing spectator area where we were well looked after by the young man on shift on Sunday morning. Coffees were lovely there and brought to our tables. His attendance was much appreciated. The hotel rooms need an upgrade but the beds are comfy and sheets and towels are super clean and again what we needed was quickly sorted by the housekeeping team. A wee gem of a hotel because of the staff my whole family had a blast and were already planning next year well done 👏 and thank you to everyone who made our annual Xmas trip to see Santa so special have a Merry Xmas .

Despite located conveniently and cheaper price via wowcher, I can't recommend it at all. Looks nice from outside. When I entered the hotel fusty smell hit me, like old cigarettes smell sank in the interior. Our room had some dust sitting here and there. We had to open all windows as heating was full blast, in the bathroom could not be turned off. I like warmth but it was unbearable, like struggling to breath, my nose got blocked. Very outdated shabby interior in the hotel, however sofas in the lounge seemed refreshed and nice. Bed was the worst, so hard we couldn't get comfortable and drove home around 11pm. Pillows were old and flat and hard, no bounce, couldn't be fluffed up. We could not even sit back and relax as it was not comfortable. There was a night lamp only on one of the night stands, unfortunately too weak to allow me to read a book. Dinner: Burger had far too much black pepper in it. I would send back but was too hungry. Very young waitresses were very nice, trying. They did not check if mains were ok though. Desserts were good, nothing special though. The nicest part was swimming pool and sauna. But sauna and steaming room very small, had to wait a bit to use sauna on Thursday afternoon. Jacuzzi too busy to use . Lassie at the bar/ reception in spa area was lovely and friendly, actually cared and smiled like she was alive.
