THIS LOCATION IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED. i went to this location today to try to eat lunch and find a room to stay while walking the Via Francigena. What an incredible disappointment. I showed up at lunchtime and had been calling all morning to make a reservation. there was no one there. curious, I went around the corner and found an older gentleman working in the orchard. I asked if it was still an u Agriturismo, and he said that it no longer was. Since this was my planned destination, and it was past lunchtime and extremely hot, I asked in Italian if I could rest in the shade of the overhang of the house for 15 minutes before I headed up the steep hill to do the final 6 km to Gambassi Terme. his answer was astounding: “if I let you sit in the shade, then this would spread to other Pilgrims, and then they might also start asking me for shade or water.” This is the complete opposite of pilgrim hospitality. He told me I could sit in the weeds across the driveway under a tree, instead. when I asked for the name or number of a taxi, he gave me a number, but it was out of order. This was the most demoralizing pilgrim experience I have had in my four years of walking pilgrimages so far. For those who are wondering, per an earlier Google review, the white dog is still caged in its own feces in the front yard. I know the name of the family, but will not post that here out of respect for local community boundaries. But they knew who they are, and let it be known how incredibly inhospitable this family is to anyone in need, anyone walking the Via Francigena, anyone needing a helping hand on a brutally hot day with no water for miles in either direction.

Hello. We did not stay here and would never want to due to the obvious neglect of the family dog caged at the entrance. Poor dog is living in faeces and not cared of. Dear owner - please take better care of your dog
