General Information: The campsite is located opposite the fire station; the campervan parking area is also there. Check-in is at the reception of the Hotel Segnes. A small tent (1 to 2 people) currently costs CHF 12, plus CHF 3 tourist tax for adults and CHF 1.50 for children. Check-in is until 8:30 p.m., and check-out is until 1:00 p.m. Campsite: The campsite itself is unfortunately quite uneven (sloping), but the tent pegs went into the ground easily. Sanitary Facilities: Opposite the campsite, in the civil defense bunker, are toilets (not gender-separated, no urinals) with a multi-level stainless steel sink, similar to what you might find in mountain huts. This is important because it allows for reasonably good washing; there is no shower. The sanitary facilities were clean, and there was sufficient soap and paper towels for drying hands. On one side of the site is a rope fence, which can be used for drying towels, etc., in good weather. Caution: Directly behind it is an electric fence keeping cows contained. Nighttime quiet: A main road runs directly past the site, but traffic came to a standstill at night. However, during my stay, a noise that sounded like a warning tone kept coming from nearby. Common room and phone charging: In the (covered) entrance area of the civil defense bunker, there was a picnic table and benches where one could sit and eat. There were also three power outlets in the sanitary facilities where one could charge a mobile phone or power bank. However, with only two outlets, you need a long cable or, for example, create a "stand" for the device being charged, perhaps using a plastic bag. Food: The Volg grocery store is within easy walking distance. Restaurants are also within walking distance.
