Aghadoe Heights Hotel & Spa

We stayed here for 3 nights in Nov 2025. Our room was very clean and comfortable. I specifically chose this hotel for the spa. Because our schedule was busy during the first two days, I saved the last day just for the spa. The hotel was very accommodating and allowed us to use the thermal spa area longer than the usual time limit. The heated lounge chairs were incredibly soothing, and the spa staff were very helpful whenever I had questions about their products. Breakfast was one of the best. During afternoon tea, we also received exceptional service from a lady who has worked at the hotel for decades. I regret that I cannot remember her name, but her attentiveness, communication, and professionalism were outstanding. I truly wanted to recognize her contribution through this review. The tea we had was excellent. If you stay here, try the “Irish Whiskey Cream” tea. You will love it.

The hotel rooms are beautiful and spacious. The beds are super comfy. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Well located, just a short drive from Killarney. The Spa in Aghadoe Heights Hotel is well worth a visit. I had two treatments, my first was with Lauren. She was fantastic, she asked what I was looking for in my treatment and she delivered. Very thorough, targeted and effective treatment. I felt so much lighter and grounded following the massage. My second treatment was with Bobby, once again he was excellent and provided an envigorating treatment. They really provide a very high standard of treatment. Relaxation spaces and facilities are all gorgeous, exactly what I wanted from my Spa experience. I would definitely return and recommend to others.

Overall our stay was ok. I had very high expectations when booking this hotel because it had been awarded one of the top 100 hotels in Ireland, however I would not rate this 5 star. From the minute you arrive there is no 5 star welcome. Normally you would expect someone to help you unload your luggage and load it back up when leaving but this was not the case. Barely had anyone offer to help, if at all. The breakfast was ok but not 5 star. Staff at breakfast were very friendly. Rooms were nice and spacious however the water that was in the room for guests , one of them was unsealed and used. Stains on the carpet which you wouldn’t expect. My childhood teddy bear went missing from my room one day and was found in the wash the next, but this caused a lot of unnecessary stress. The location was fab and I had a lovely massage in the spa, however the facilities in the thermal suite need a revamp. Also small things like when I arrived to the thermal spa there were empty cups lying around and towels left behind. You would expect in a 5 star for all this to be constantly maintained . I would rate this 4 star max . When I compare it to other 5 stars in Killarney it is not on par . But overall our stay was good.
