Maxine is an amazing host. Love what she has made of place and i can say hands down the most comfortable bed I've ever stayed in away from home 10/10 - Zac & Nikki

We stayed at the Ocean Gate Hotel recently and couldn't be happier with our choice in B&B. I couldn't recommend this B&B enough; Maxine was lovely and helpful, and I couldn't have asked for a better host. The room itself was very spacious, and the view was brilliant from the window overlooking the arcade and the beach. For breakfast, we decided to go for the traditional breakfast, which consisted of eggs, beans, bacon, sausages, and mushrooms; however, there were options aplenty, including toast, cereal, and fruit. There was also a bar, which I didn't personally use, but the prices were very fair. Overall, our stay was amazing, and the host likewise. I'd highly recommend anyone looking to get away down to a beach for a few days. We're already planning our next visit 😁.

Avoid Ocean Guesthouse, Weymouth – Terrible Experience This was by far the worst guesthouse experience I’ve ever had. The owner was extremely rude and shouted at me when I tried to raise genuine concerns during the night. Basic safety and comfort were completely ignored. • Security: Doors couldn’t be locked properly, which left me feeling unsafe. • Facilities: Water pressure was so low the shower was unusable, and the TV didn’t work at all. • Lighting: Hallway lights were switched off, forcing me to use my phone torch just to get downstairs. • Service: When I asked for help, I was treated with hostility instead of support. If you value safety, comfort, or even basic respect, do not stay here. There are plenty of better places in Weymouth where you’ll be treated properly as a guest.
