Stoneborough House Bed and Breakfast

We spent four nights at Stone Borough House and I can say they were fabulous. Beautiful room, massive bed ,great ensuite with fantastic shower. Kathryn and George great hosts, breakfast delicious with superb choice all in lovely surroundings

This is the second time that we have stayed in Stoneborough House. Kathryn and George are excellent hosts. The accommodation and breakfasts are second to none. It is the best B&B that we have ever stayed in, we cannot recommend Stoneborough House highly enough, it has everything that you need and more. We highly recommend Stoneborough House and will certainly be back again for another visit in the near future.

As a newcomer to B&Bs, I wasn't sure what to expect, having spent much of my life in mostly 4-5* hotels (for business and for pleasure), thinking that I would be somehow downgrading my lifestyle. How wrong I was with Stoneborough Bed and Breakfast- it's very much a boutique B&B and changed my outlook entirely. I arrived late from London, having misjudged the Bank Holiday traffic and Kathyrn not only stayed up late to greet me, but did so graciously as well. My room (Wisteria) was excellent- clean, homely, well thought-out and the bathroom had everything I could possibly need (and more!). The bed was also incredibly comfortable with high-quality bedding. The 'family-style' breakfast the next morning was another revelation- sitting around a dining table with the other guests. Smart move really- guests can share information about what is local and what to see and do but it is also a long move away from the hushed individual bubbles of a hotel breakfast and I loved being able to chat with the other guests. The fruit platter was presently beautifully and the English breakfast incredibly tasty. Kathryn's homemade jams are also delicious. Kathryn and George were the consummate hosts- every ready to help, and I was not only charmed by their beautiful home but also by them too. Overall, I found that my time at Stoneborough House not only exceeded my expectations of a B&B, but in many, many ways exceeded my experiences of staying in 5* hotels, which can be luxurious but also impersonal. However, I fear that I am now spoilt and nothing will ever compare to Stoneborough!
