The Lawns Bed and Breakfast

We had a lovely 3 night stay at The Lawns. Our room was large and very comfortable with both a bath and shower. The breakfast was very good. It’s located in a quiet area 3 or 4 minutes from the centre of Budleigh Salterton which is a lovely place to visit, particularly for walking both inland and along the coast. Thanks Alex for looking after us so well and for some interesting chats. We may be back!

We were booked into The Lawns for a much needed short break away in Budleigh but had to cancel at very short notice, due to ill-health. When told of the problem, the owners were very gracious in accepting our cancellation and I’m sure The Lawns will be a joy to stay at when we renew our reservation later in the year. One sees so many negative accommodation reviews and I feel that courteous credit where credit is due is also well worth reviewing.

This is one of the most civilised places I've ever stayed. I was reading from my work at an open mic at the Budleigh Salterton Lit Festival, so the location was perfect. The room was fantastic and exceeded my expectations. Some rather tasteful art deco furniture dotted around the room. The breakfast was very good, with cheese, bread, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, freshly baked pastries, and a boiled egg. The coffee was great too. I didn't need to eat until the late afternoon. Alex and Sarah are wonderful hosts. A really cool couple with thought-provoking passions. I could've stayed for longer than I did, but I know I can always come back. I have every intention of doing so.
