Podere San Giovanni

Completely fantastic! Everything -- food, environment , atmosphere. We have stayed for 2 nights during our trip through Italy. Claudia has turned our vacations into a fairy tail. We stumbled upon Podere San Giovanni, run by Claudia and her family, last year by pure chance, and immediately fell in love with it, so much so that we're returning again this year. If you're looking for tranquility, you absolutely must come. The farm offers a restaurant serving traditional Roman cuisine, a beautiful pool surrounded by greenery, and horseback riding excursions in the Città di Castello countryside. Well, what can I say? Simply perfect: we stayed the last 15 days of August, and we were lucky to have survived the children's summer camp period. We found ourselves in a relaxed environment, with a nearly private pool to our liking, and endless spaces for Nik to play safely. At the reception, the very kind Mrs. Claudia made us feel at home right away. Then, thanks to little Nik, Flaminia, whom I can never thank enough for her patience with Nik, and Celeste, who was so good at introducing "little Jack" the pony, made us feel at HOME. A special mention goes to the three house dogs, "Zampetta," "Gas Gas," and "Pablo," for putting up with Nik. The cuisine, typically Roman, is excellent and they use only quality products. What can I say, aside from the fact that nature is always present and the odd pesky critter is to be expected... but if you're not comfortable with that, this isn't the place for you. 100% highly recommended.
