Not worth a 4,5 rating, more a 2... Do NOT get half pension. A 10-year old could make a better dinner. The Argentinian restaurant is probably a better choice for dinner. The room had a funky smell, that didn't disappear when opening the window for a while. The hotel is outdated, but clean. The personel was very young, but all smiled and spoke some words of english. The guy at reception didn't know how to check us in, so we had to do that ourselves through their website. Flyer in the room said there was laundry service, but the reception said there isn't. Don't eat the meat at breakfast, it was a prime landing spot for flies. Pretty confident the milk was spoiled. Fruit was rotting. Location is good, though Candanchu is not a particularly charming place (in summer, at least).

I spent one night here. I didn't like the rooms, they were old. The location of the hotel is great in winter.

We were travelling back to the UK from staying in Spain and needed to stop near the French border. The location of the hotel was great as really close to the border for travelling through France the next day. There did not seem to be many people around as primarily the hotel is a skiing lodge. The Reception staff were really helpful and check in was quick. Our room was a little dated but very clean and allowed us to take the dog. There was a very small balcony with outstanding mountain views adjoining the room. We had paid for half board and had the set menu which had limitted choices. The food was basic and not very enjoyable and breakfast in the morning needed trays of bacon to be replenished, sugar and plates to be restocked. Overall a pleasant enough experience for an overnight stop.
