Greenacres Guest House

This place was sought out for location and their website asks how many adults, children and infants and gives ages for each. Adults are 13+. I booked a room for me and my daughter in Jan , msg’d in Feb to make sure bed and room were the one we booked as she would sleep with me and I was told to cancel reservation, no kids allowed, and was accused of lying to make reservation. From the reviews? A gigantic bullet dodged. I didn’t feel good after reading room cleanliness is quite poor and having to drive miles to another location for breakfast at a bed and breakfast. We have a wonderful new reservation we are excited about with excellent reviews and are a family friendly establishment.

Room 8 was quite nice with large terrace and lovely view. There was no staff onsite; requests were satisfied by offsight owners via their hotel downtown, with one exception... Just before our arrival they announced we had to reserve at downtown location for breakfast, requiring challenging parking- basically a hassle. We chose to buy our own provisions and have in room, and twice requested a credit for the breakfasts. Owners never answered.

wonderful place with the most attentive and nice couple who take care of the property. The view is amazing and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. I took one star off because the outside patio is run down, there are no places to sit there properly, no shading, and truly you want to spend as much time out there because the view is so beautiful. We stayed in the cozy room which was more spacious that we thought but the bathroom was so tiny and dated. The location is fantastic, very central to Portree and the rest of Skye.
