Wellbeing Guesthouse Casa é Connosco

We stayed here as a stopover on our journey from the Algarve to Porto – the perfect halfway stop, just before Coimbra. It’s also a great location if you want to explore the city of Coimbra. The absolute highlight was the dinner: by far the best meal of our two-week trip through Portugal – several courses, beautifully prepared, with many ingredients straight from the garden. Breakfast was just as impressive: generous, lovingly prepared, and including a homemade smoothie with fruits from the garden. The large garden itself is a wonderful experience and open for guests to enjoy. The hosts are incredibly warm and welcoming, and made our stay truly unforgettable. We were also lucky that there were no other guests on the day of our visit – which meant we had both the shared bathroom and the pool entirely to ourselves. A wonderful extra bonus! We give this place the highest possible recommendation.

I stayed at the Wellness Guesthouse on 11 April after a long day’s walk from Tomar. The guesthouse is literally 10 steps from the Camino de Santiago and about 4 kms north of Alvaiazere. It’s a very peaceful and zen spot and both Lizz and Jan are very welcoming and genuinely charming hosts. The room was perfect decorated and super clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bath was quite modern ( and clean). I thought the price was extremely reasonable for what I felt was a stay similar to a 4 or 5 star hotel experience. On top of that the food was phenomenal—delicious and plenty of it—plus an engaging and charming conversation with Lizz and Jan at dinner—included at no extra charge :) Notably drinks are included in the meal price, which is separate from the room charge. But all in all, I thought it very reasonable for the quality of the room and board! I would absolutely stay here again…and again!

Words can not describe how amazing this place is. I stayed here when visiting my family as we wanted to be closeby to Ansiao, and stumbled upon Liz, the owners amazing place. From when we arrived to when we left, it was just a surreal experience - and probably one I'll never experience elsewhere. The guesthouse is so welcoming and calming, and includes everything you could possibly think of to make for an amazing stay. Liz makes an incredible breakfast and it starts your morning off the best possible way. Made with love, care, and fresh ingredients from her beautiful/tranquil gardens. After just shy of 7 days here - I left feeling on Cloud9. Living a rather, well, fast paced lifestyle, this was everything I needed to reset my body whilst spending time in all the beauty Portugal has to offer. I can not recommend this place enough. Honestly, if you're reading this, stop your search - you've found THE place to stay. The other reviews live up to what you experience. If you want a relaxing, calming, and stunning place to visit whilst in the area, look no further. When you meet Liz, you'll understand why every other review mentions her. She makes you feel like you've known her your whole life, and makes you feel like your part of her family. Thank you Liz for an unforgettable stay, and to those reading - stop, book, and try!
