AREA 47 Basecamp

There are hairs on the sheets, the worst it can get in a hotel… The reception is closed at 17:00, noone picks up the phone, so we cannot even ask for clean sheets. It is rather a hostel than a hotel, no hand soap, no tea/coffee amenities, no glasses and the room is more basic than in the pictures. Also the check-in experience was very poor.

Hatten 3 Bett Zimmer gebucht. Im Winter. Für 2 Nächte. Als Notlösung. Und genau das war diese Unterkunft für uns auch. Nur der Preis war einem Hotel würdig. Das keinerlei Infrastruktur zur Verfügung steht wussten wir. Ausstattung wie eine Jugendherberge. Kein Stuhl, kein Tisch, kein Fernseher, kein WLAN im Zimmer obwohl laut Homepage auf dem ganzen Gelände kostenloses WLAN zur Verfügung stehen sollte. Parkplatzsituation und Zufahrt (einspurig, kaum Ausweichmöglichkeiten) direkt an der Unterkunft sehr eng. Wer zu spät kommt hat Pech und muss Ausweichparkplatz nutzen. Unser Fazit: Für längere Aufenthalte im Winter für uns ungeeignet. Im Sommer sicher besser da die Zimmer über ein Balkon mit Stühlen und Tisch verfügen und auch die Infrastruktur geöffnet hat.

This hotel was extremely irresponsible, absolutely the worst accommodation experience of my trip. The hotel stated that the reception was open until 5 PM, but when we arrived at 3:30 PM, the reception was completely deserted. Two days before check-in, I proactively contacted the hotel to inquire about the key box number, but was told it would only be provided on the day of check-in. However, upon arrival, we still received no check-in information or messages. It was snowing heavily in Austria, freezing cold, and nearby shops were already closed. We were abandoned outside this hotel in the forest, with no internet signal and no way to contact the outside world. We eventually had to drive out of the forest to call the booking platform for help, but even the platform couldn't contact any hotel staff. Our holiday was completely ruined by this hotel. The staff went home early to celebrate, while we were left stranded in the snow, with nowhere to stay, spending a painful and unforgettable Christmas Eve. In all my years of traveling in Europe, I have never encountered such an irresponsible hotel. If there were a negative 10 rating, I would definitely give it a negative 10—not even one star!
