Posada-Restaurante Elbete

I stayed at Posada Elbete for one night while walking El Camino de Baztan. The place is beautiful and clean, and the owners are super friendly. Beside that, the restaurant on the ground floor has to be the best restaurant I've dined at in Spain in all my years of travels! Just wow.

I stopped here with a friend on a cycling tour into Spain. What an amazing find. A very small village full of life and this gem of a hotel/restaurant at the centre. Lots of character, very comfortable room decorated in traditional style (lots of wood!). We had possibly the best steak for a very long time - a magnificent tomahawk/ Côtes de Boeuf.

When I was injured from walking the GR11, every hotel room for 30 miles was booked solid. Carlos bent over backwards to help me find a room in town, even though I wasn't a customer. It was incredibly kind of him and I'd be up a creek without his help. I came back for dinner that night. I had the combo steak dinner, which was delicious and only 14.50 with a beer! Definitely patronize this place, even if just for a meal.
