Hotel Lucija

It’s an old hotel but the rooms are pretty big and we even had a large bathtub in our room. The hotel manager Petar was very helpful! The best swimming spot in town is located behind the hotel and right next door is a nice pizzeria.

Extended our stay to 3 nights, because the overall package is VERY MUCH o.k. Yes, it is a bit worn and old-fashioned. Needs refurbishment, that's no secret. Call it "retro", though, and it starts getting a positive twist (we do like "hotel museums" with a character). Their very attentive staff makes all the difference. Plus the prime location, a fair pricing, their extremely romantic riverside swimming spot, the old plane trees, grown-in garden, the terrace, the quietness ... Rooms are perfectly acceptable, beds comfy, bathrooms clean, what more do you need. As it is obviously off the list with most tour operators, that'll spare you the company of cheap coach tourist hordes. Here you'll meet mostly individual travellers such as bikers & hikers.

We had no room just were there for lunch in July 2018, the food was very good and we had a beautiful view to the river and mountains nearby. The only strange thing was that they don't serve a pancake standalone, only if you order a main dish also???
