Hotel Villa Duse may present itself as a charming, family-run boutique hotel, and at first glance it appears welcoming and pleasant. However, my personal experience was unfortunately very disappointing and unprofessional. While the atmosphere may seem friendly, it quickly became uncomfortable. As a guest, I felt drawn into internal gossip and emotionally driven discussions that have no place in a professional hospitality environment. A hotel — especially one serving international and business travelers — should maintain discretion, neutrality, and professionalism at all times. One of the most concerning aspects was the handling of reservations made through third parties, which is very common for business trips. The staff appeared unable or unwilling to understand that the person staying at the hotel is the actual guest and should be treated as the primary point of respect and communication — regardless of who made the booking. This led to a situation where I felt disregarded and not taken seriously as the main and only guest staying at the hotel. Additionally, I experienced issues regarding privacy that made me feel uncomfortable during my stay. Privacy and discretion are fundamental standards in hospitality. The only person who demonstrated a clear understanding of hospitality standards was the manager, who appears to be the daughter of the family. She showed professionalism and awareness. Unfortunately, this level of competence did not seem consistent among the rest of the team. A family-run hotel can absolutely be charming and successful — but professionalism, proper training, and respect for guests must always come first. Sadly, that was not my experience here.

My husband and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon, it was a recommendation from my family, who has stayed at Villa Duse a few times in the past and absolutely raved about it. This place really lived up to the hype. It is a beautiful, authentically Italian hotel in a sweet, quiet neighborhood outside of the busy, overwhelming center of Rome. The Library Suite was very clean and comfortable, we slept great every night in the bed and appreciated the big shower. Eleonora and her mother were so kind, helpful, and accommodating. Eleonora went above and beyond to make our stay perfect, even recommending places to eat and shop around Rome. The breakfast in the morning is FABULOUS with a variety of pastries, fruits, and delicious cappuccinos. We were sad to leave and will always remember our time at Villa Duse and in the sweet neighborhood of Parioli

Really lovely family hotel. All the staff are so nice and helpful. The room was lovely and breakfast, when we chose to have it, was delicious, especially Maria Rosaria's homemade cakes! The location is great as it's in a quieter part of Rome so a great escape from the crowds in the touristy areas. Near to two beautiful parks and there are some really great restaurants in the area so no need to venture into central Rome every day. Would highly recommend this place.
