George Starkey Hut

it had no service yet it was an incredible time to get out of the foul weather commonly experienced in the lake District (the walls are paper thin)

I've stayed in this Hut a number of times in recent years and it's always been a favourite. However, I was struck this time by how tired looking and unloved it appeared on the inside in the male dormitory and toilet/wash area. Mildew/mould proliferates in a number of areas which is a concern and needs attention.

My wife Marian Parsons is the warden of the Starkey Climbing club hut, run jointly by the ABMSAC ( Brit section of Swiss AC ) and teh Alpine club of London. Open to BMC members
