Side Farm Campsite

The entry road is a bit difficult, be careful if your car is low. Pretty much the whole site is not level, and quite steep in places (they have a beautiful flat meadow in front of the farm)…... But the atmosphere is good, right next to the lake with access for SUP, canoes, swimming etc. The bathroom is usable, with three shower rooms, good hot water, and four toilets. Sometimes the flushing doesn't work. 😅 solely due to the sloped field I wouldn’t return for tent camping 🏕️

This was the most expensive campside we used during our C2C walk (28£ for 2 people with 1 tent). When we arrived the warm water of the showers were already gone and there are only a few flat spots for setting up a tent.

We haven't been to the campsite, but did stop by the tea room on the way back from a hike. Absolutely worth it, it's a lovely place. Service is so friendly and nice and it has absolutely everything you need: hot and cold drinks, snacks, cakes and the best local ice cream pots! One of the highlights of the day was stopping by here so absolutely would recommend when in the area and looking for a quick stop after a day out. Benches outside all in lovely condition and a lovely place to sit with the dog. lots of love to these guys!
