Kilbride Campsite, South Uist

Found myself on South Uist on the eve of storm Floris with 80mph winds due. All Accomodation booked or pricey, it was just me my bike and tent! DJ the campsite owner helped me find the most sheltered pitch and my tent lasted just fine! I stayed put for two days, met all the friendly local campsite neighbours and actually had a great time despite the stormy conditions. DJ relaxed and friendly and checked on myself along with all the campers (vans). Cafe on site, facilities and everything you need. Thanks for a good stay DJ - one I won’t forget!

Beautiful place with a fantastic view! Nice place to set your tent have your clothes washed and get a hot shower. Clean toilet, washing machine, dryer and a microwave and free water.

Okay campsite with good kitchen/laundry, clean toilets, and clean showers. The location is useful for the Barra ferry and there is a cafe on site but it's got limited hours. Booking by text message or phone, which isn't easy to find. The owner is friendly but very laid back so it's not obvious which pitch is yours when you arrive.
