B&B Al Colle

We stayed here for two nights. The house is wonderfully peaceful, a fifteen-minute walk from the center of Buonconvento. We chose this accommodation because of its high ratings and had read that Buonconvento is a beautiful village. We were a bit disappointed with the latter: just one charming street, and very little else to see. Unfortunately, the B&B also didn't quite meet our expectations. Contact with owner Monica was very smooth and friendly. The welcome was also very warm. The house is very well-equipped with a large shared kitchen, where you can even cook a meal if you like. Everything is provided. Our en-suite room was spacious, very clean, and had a comfortable bed, with a beautiful view. So far, everything was perfect. What we did miss was a terrace outside, where we could sit in nice weather for breakfast or a glass of wine in the evening. Breakfast was also somewhat less than we're used to. Toast and croissants with jam or chocolate spread, wrapped in plastic, were all that was available. You could make your own coffee or tea, and there was a carton of milk. Perhaps we're spoiled, but we found this a bit meager. After a wonderful night's sleep, the second night was a bit less than perfect. The owners' dog barked a lot from 10 PM to 1 AM, which shortened our sleep. We don't think anyone else was home, which added to the negatives.

A magnificent place in the green hills, quiet and peaceful, as we like it, Monica very kind and available to our needs, such as charging our electric bikes, it was a nice week of vacation, I recommend it. Thanks Monica

We just got back, two families totaling six people. The place was very well-kept, and Monica, the owner, was very kind and helpful. It's an excellent base for visiting the Val d'Orcia, and less than a minute's drive from town, and not remote like other villages. The evening after a day out felt like we were coming home.
