Beinglas Campsite

Stayed in the hut. Very very expensive for what it is and you have to pay additional for bedding (no towel included). The restaurant pub is good and the menu is probably the most decent we’ve seen on the WHW. The only thing - the women’s bathroom is really bad. Lukewarm showers, not the cleanest and very outdated. Shop had some good supplies - try the Tiffin! The lovely staff dry your items for you which was nice.

Had been through Beinglas a few years ago while walking the WHW, but not stayed until this week. Despite being a 'hub' for WHW walkers, it was still a really relaxing stay with a variety of accommodation options. I tried out a Tentbox! I also made a mistake with my booking and they were able to sort me out no bother. The staff were friendly and good crack, food was good, and general atmosphere welcoming and relaxed. I noticed some reviews complain about the shower/toilet facilities, and yes they could probably do with a refresh, but considering Beinglas is right on the WHW, is a rural property (using septic tanks) and there are always people coming/going with dirty, wet boots, I would consider them pretty clean and decent.

Mixed experience at this campsite. The toilets and showers were in very poor condition — dirty, moldy doors, broken or jammed locks, and everything felt like it hadn’t been properly maintained in a long time. They really need to renovate the facilities completely instead of just doing small temporary fixes. If it wasn't for that this would have been a 5 star review! On the positive side, there’s a nice restaurant with good but quite expensive food, and also a shared kitchen area where campers can cook their own meals and charge their phones, which is great. The camping area itself was good and quite popular, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, a decent campsite with potential, but it’s time for a major upgrade of the sanitary facilities.
