Before the owner starts insulting me, judging by the reviews, let me make it clear from the outset that I'm neither a tourist nor have I been paid to write what follows with such anger and contempt. I've been hiking for many years, and I've never encountered a private hostel like this. Starting with the pictures, which bear no resemblance to reality, the bunk beds are incredibly low (and there isn't a general "law on bunk bed height measurements," as some comments mention, only the distance between the top bunk and the ceiling, and yes, I researched this thoroughly before writing). I seriously don't understand how the planning department granted them a permit, because so many people in such a small space isn't legal, or at least not humane. Even though the rooms are for resting, as I read in one of the responses, and I agree with that, after long days of walking, what we, as guests, value most is a restful sleep in a peaceful and comfortable environment. I understand that rooms don't have to be large, but they should offer a minimum of space between beds to guarantee something as basic as mobility, privacy, and hygiene. When there's hardly any distance between them, it makes it difficult to rest and creates discomfort, especially in hot weather or when there are many guests. As for hygiene... let's just say they clean what the mother-in-law sees, as they say. They say the terrace has disabled access, but what good is a terrace if you can't move around comfortably inside? The showers leak, the lighting is poor, and the air conditioning only works if you bring a fan or handheld fan, or if there's a breeze, because the one there is just for decoration. Then they charge €5 per person for the washing machine... outrageous! Come on! We're pilgrims and we're paying for a service that's nowhere near worth it! I've stayed in much cheaper places with better conditions, and I've slept in bus stops in a sleeping bag, which was far more comfortable than that cramped room. You don't need to go to Ibiza to find comfortable accommodation. The point is that pilgrims to Santiago, who don't have the financial means to pay for anything better or whose hostels are full because we pay a high price compared to others, should at least consider the value for money. As PILGRIMS, we value both physical rest and human interaction. More friendly service would make a huge difference. "Reviews and comments, even negative ones, are opportunities to improve a business. Instead of insulting the customer, it's better to listen humbly, identify patterns, train the team, and respond with empathy. A successful business learns from criticism and turns it into concrete actions, because attacking the customer only damages its reputation. Knowing that nowadays, social media and these kinds of reviews are what customers consult, accepting feedback and working to improve strengthens trust. Keep this in mind for everyone's benefit. I read somewhere that someone responded to a pilgrim with the word 'karma,' and I remember that 'karma' is the law of cause and effect: what you give is what you get. Treat the customer well, and you receive respect. Listen humbly, and you reap trust. Insult, and negative reviews rain down on you. Every action has its echo. And yes, I would love to be the defender of pilgrims, because what I don't want for myself, I don't want for others." nobody.
