Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and appreciated several aspects of our experience. However, I wanted to share a few notes that may be helpful for families traveling with children. The room was spacious, which we really liked, but for families it could benefit from a divider, such as a curtain or door, to provide more privacy. Additionally, the shower door is fully transparent, which may feel uncomfortable for some guests traveling with older kids. The restaurant was good, though for the price we were surprised that beverages were not included. It would be nice if basics like sparkling water, coffee, or hot chocolate were available throughout the stay. Service for the children was prompt, which we appreciated, but the adults’ meals did take quite a while to arrive—especially noticeable after a long day of skiing. Regarding the sauna and pool area, extending the hours would greatly improve the experience for skiing families. Closing at 7PM felt quite early. After skiing all day, our 3 children were hungry by 5PM, but dinner wasn’t available until 6:30PM, which made the evening feel a bit hectic as we wanted to swim but knew it all closed at 7PM. On a positive note, the ski storage area was excellent and very convenient for drying equipment overnight. We also want to mention that Julia was very kind and welcoming, which made a great first impression.

I do not typically leave hotel reviews; however, my wife and I were so pleased with our experience here that we needed to. The hotel is in a beautiful location at the base of the mountains and the surrounding area is exactly what you would expect from a small town in the Alps. Staff members were more than happy to pick us up from the nearby train station and bring us to the hotel. Once we entered, it had a very cozy and friendly feel to it. The decoration was exactly what I was expecting. Once we got to our room, which was spacious and beautiful, we had to sit and admire the view of the mountains from the deck. The room was in perfect condition. The food is quite impressive. The dinner menu changes daily, and you select what you want from the menu when you go down for breakfast in the morning. For breakfast, there are a variety of cold cut meats, cheeses, yogurts, fruits, granola, and baked goods. There is also a station for ordering eggs. Dinner includes a salad bar with a variety of options, a light appetizer, different soups to choose from, three options for the main course (meat, fish, and vegetarian) and dessert. In addition, there is a cheese bar for after dessert as well. Each course is brought to you and time between courses is offered. There is soft lighting and music that really adds to the overall experience. With your hotel room reservations (if you choose to have breakfast and dinner included), you receive your own table for the duration of your stay. There is a healthy variety of wine, spirits, cocktails, and beer available as well. There is also non-alcoholic beverages. There are two spa areas and a workout room available. We used both spa areas. The area on the main floor offers a pool and dry sauna, while the Stadl spa offers a steam bath, aroma therapy sauna, a dry sauna, and a room full of beds to curl up and read as much as you desire. The staff were incredibly helpful in helping us navigate the local train schedule and how to best enjoy the area. There is a ski lift only 100 yards from the hotel, but our visit was too early in the season to enjoy it. We took the train to nearby Garmisch to ski and visit the Zugspitze (30 minutes from Hotel Spielmann, and 1 hour train ride up to the ski area). The staff at Hotel Spielmann were more than happy to come in early and bring us to the train station (5-minute drive or 20-minute walk from the hotel), and to pick us up after a long day of skiing. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Spielmann. I enjoyed every second of our stay, and the amenities and staff far exceeded my expectations.

Went there during my roadtrip in Austria. Dinner was succulent with lots of different tastes. Service was very dynamic and efficient. Each fork or spoon was a great pleasure. Welcome was very warm at the reception. The Sauna area is not that big but well designed and you feel relaxed there. The outside pool is like a dream with a panorama view on the mountain. I will come back.
