Such a shame to leave a bad review. Location is great, close to amenities, great views around. But the Queen room we had for the night was one of the worst places we've stayed in. No window, poor light, lumpy pillows. I cannot say much about the cleanliness of the room, because the light was really dingy. Filthy bathroom. Toilet has limescale built in for probably months. Dirty shower, shower curtain and so on... Paper thin walls... Such a shame...

Hotel Rural Vilaflor feels more like a hostel than a hotel, but compared to other places we stayed in Tenerife, it is in much better condition and well looked after. It is clearly a 2-star property, and within that category it offers everything essential. The room was initially cold, but a portable radiator was available, which made it warm and comfortable. We also appreciated the very warm blankets. Rooms are on two floors with shared bathrooms, which were clean and functional, and a hair dryer was provided. The location is quiet and peaceful in the mountains. There is a large shared balcony upstairs for drying clothes or sunbathing, and a lovely terrace downstairs covered with grapevines, plus an indoor area with microwave, coffee and tea facilities. Shops, cafés and restaurants are just across the street, with beautiful views all around. This is a good choice for travelers who don’t need luxury but want a more authentic Tenerife experience and enjoy hiking. We were satisfied with our stay :)

Lovely hotel. Rooms are pretty, quirky and spacious There is a nice common space where you can have a cup of coffee and chat. It was, a bit cold though so surprised there is no heating. And the levels and unevenness wouldn't make it appropriate for elderly people.
