HOTEL BASTIMENTO

*Our preferred rating is 3.5/5. *Check-in for Bastimento is at Hotel Mathis. The room had a comfortable bed with lots of closet space. The bed linens were nice, as were the towels. There are power outlets on each side of the bed, something we’ve come to appreciate on an extended trip. Of particular note was the included breakfast (*which is served at Hotel Mathis, about a two minute walk from Bastimemto). There was a great range of options, including cold meats, cheese, hard boiled eggs, cereals, yogurts and, of course, lots of sweets. The coffee at Mathis is excellent and they’ll bring you as many cups as you want. On the down side, the shower was very poor. While there is lots of hot water and good pressure, the shower head is terrible. It created high pressure, narrow streams of water that were almost painful (think Water Pik). To make matters worse there was a big gap in water coverage, making hair and body rinsing really challenging. The room also got very warm. We managed this as best we could by closing the bathroom door (the water heater there was pumping out most of the heat), but we atill had to have the bedroom window open to sleep comfortably. That was a problem because our room overlooked a busy street, with loud vehicles and conversations late into the night, and in the early morning.

Comfortable. Very little option for breakfast. The staff are helpful. The room is clean. Also he charged us another night for check out after 10.

Ceaser and staff are gracious hosts. Great place to stay in Fiorenzuola. Many bars, resturaunts, gelatarias in close proximity.
