This is a small family run hotel, less than 10 minutes walk from the train station. It has stunning views from the front rooms over the valley and the mountains. We had a corner room which had two balconies, very nice to sit out on. The room was very comfortable and clean, and was serviced daily. I loved the fact the bathroom had two sinks. Breakfast was truly excellent, with lots of choices of fresh fruit, fresh breads, home made jam, etc. The owner was at reception most of the time and was really helpful with local recommendations, and any other questions. The staff all really made us feel at home. We stayed here for a week, and would definitely return again.

My wife and I stayed at Berghaus hotel and it was a perfect fit for what we were looking for- a small, family-run hotel, with clean rooms and great food. The host was super helpful telling us what to see (and what to avoid) and she had a good sense of humor. To set expectations- this is not a luxury hotel and the standard rooms are Swiss-sized (not American sized). It is a very clean, well-maintained, comfortable and efficient stay. They served gluten free food, and had a breakfast and dinner loaded with hyper-local ingredients (butter from the nearby alpine farmer, homemade jam, bread from the town bakery, etc). We would definitely come back.

My wife and I stayed here in September of 2023. We thought it was wonderful. Very clean. Quiet. Old-fashioned, so we didn't feel like we were staying in America at a Holiday Inn. The lady who runs the place is friendly and very helpful. For example, she advised us to avoid Grindelwald, which turned out to be a great tip. We had to pass through it, and it was like Gatlinburg with fondue. She gave us lots of great advice that made our trip more rewarding. The hotel is uphill from the train station, and I would say the distance is a quarter of a mile or so, so you will need to be the kind of person who doesn't mind a beautiful and exhilarating walk. The location is very quiet. I suppose all of Wengen is quiet. We had large windows, and we looked out at the peaks across the valley as well as a peaceful pasture. We didn't have dinner at the hotel, so we can't say much about that. Breakfast was fine. It's hard to impress an American with breakfast. We rule breakfast. It is literally amazing how much better we are at breakfast than everyone else. We would definitely stay here again.
