Ok, so this place was visited whilst I was on a course. Is it suitable for what I needed it for? Yes… The room was clean and quiet and the mattress looked brand new. Sheets were super clean and to be fair whilst the room was dated it was clean and smelt clean. Bathroom needed a refurb but it was clean as well. It was busy with workmen staying who smoke in their rooms as it could be smelt in the corridor. The common areas need a lot of TLC but it serves a purpose. You’re paying less than £30 a night to stay here. You get what you pay for. Reception staff are friendly. Car park is rammed and hard to get in and out of with the amount of work vans parking up. But tonnes of pot holes. In all it was okay.

stayed at the ox hotel, Hilltop heights. I cant fault the staff at all they were so friendly, respectful, and helpful. The room however was another matter. The corridors were so warm but the room even with the radiator on full was cold. You could feel the draft coming through the window. With the curtains closed it helped but the draft could be felt coming around the sides . The double bed was actually 2 singles pushed together .no legs on the bed just the divan bases on the floor. The bed was low. The quilt was thin and we had to get our blanket from the car. The bath had hair in and was rusty around the taps . The inside of the shower curtain was disgusting. The towel was torn . I understand i got the room at a good price I still would have expected a better service. Again I have no bad words about the staff . Some photos attached

Great value, rooms were fit for purpose, bed was comfortable, kettle in the room, self serve continental breakfast included and free parking. Reception staff friendly. Working clientele- van drivers, salesman etc. Also a bar with pool table and darts board. We were just passing through from Aberdeen to London so great for a night. Unpretentious hotel, great value just watch out for the pot holes in the car park!
