Our stay was mostly great, there were just a couple of things - Your website says breakfast is served until 11am, but we found out when we got there that it is 10am for guests. The main reson for our stay was for me to do an early run / hike up the old man on Coniston and get back in time for breakfast. We got to the table just in time for 10am, but it was a rush and there was no bacon left / the staff were starting to turn the food heaters off. I spoke to one of the staff and she kindly left the food there for a little longer for me to get some breakfast.. the website needs to be updated with the correct times. Also, We understood that you are a dog friendly hotel, but we would definitely recommend that you have are dog free sections in your restaurant. We ate in there on the Friday night and there were dogs on the 3 tables that surrounded us. One couple had their dog on a long lead that kept wondering close to our table and another family came in with a dog that came and started sniffing at our table. My wife and I were both on alert with this, moving our food away from the dogs so that they wouldn't try to eat it. So we were unable to fully relax as a result. As it stands, we feel we would need to highlight this to anyone we're speaking to about our stay with you. It's great that you accomodate for dog owners, but you also need to recognise that non-dog owners are likely to not want dogs situated next to them when they're eating also.

Stayed here for 2 nights during a holiday to the lakes. The rooms are well equipped, comfortable and quiet. The location is wonderful with views of Coniston water and the surrounding fells. The staff were very polite and helpful. The food was also very good. We have stayed at other Inn Collection pubs and this one was up to their usual standard. Would definitely recommend this place for a short break and would happily stay again.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at The Coniston inn. Room was clean and warm with comfortable beds. Upon arrival we were greeted by Callum who was friendly and helpful. When we got to our room we noticed the bed hadn't been twinned like requested. This wasn't an issue though as a lovely member of the housekeeping team quickly rectified this. Breakfast was good with lots to choose from. Our only issue was with an evening meal. My daughter ordered the butternut sqaush ravioli as her main. Although tasty the portion size was tiny and not worth the price. It would have been better as a starter or on the kids menu. Apart from that we had a lovely stay in a beautiful location and can't wait to visit again.
