Auberge Les Liddes

We went on a ski trip with a group, and our stay turned out to be more challenging than expected. The reception and the quality of service need improvement, and the cleanliness of the toilets and showers really needs to be addressed. The pillows are hard, and not all the beds have them—it's such a shame!

We stayed there for one night with a friend over the weekend, perfect! The place is clean, as are the bathrooms, and the hostel manager is incredibly welcoming! Breakfast was great, and the location in the resort is fantastic. I highly recommend it!

Our stay at the Auberge les Liddes in Zinal was very disappointing. We were a group of about twenty people staying for one night, with soup and breakfast included. From the moment we arrived at the inn, we were disappointed by the welcome. The staff were not very helpful in providing us with information about the general organization of the establishment, such as room numbers or meal times. The lack of hygiene was unacceptable, especially during dinner. The raclette had a very unpleasant taste, and the spices we were served were expired (see photos). We pointed this out to the cook, but he didn't seem concerned, his response being, "They're just spices," with little concern in his voice. The situation didn't improve when we asked the cook for extra potatoes. He had his hands in the kitchen sink, washing dishes. He agreed to serve us potatoes, but he never dried his hands or put on gloves before handling them. The potatoes were served to us with hands wet from dishwater. During dinner, the other groups also staying at the hostel were shocked by the way the raclette was served to us. The young man responsible for scraping the raclette unfortunately didn't know how to do it properly. We tried to give him some pointers, but it was already too late as the cheese had melted too much. The lack of information about the establishment's details, as well as the poor hygiene, contributed to a very disappointing overall experience. We sincerely hope that these issues will be taken seriously and that measures will be taken to significantly improve the experience for future guests. Date of review: February 11, 2024
