This hotel is extremely cute. It's all in wood, so it gives you that antique feeling appropriate for the location, but the furniture is new and great maintained. Although I have spent only one night there, it was a great experience and if the road takes me nearby again, I will definitely come back :-) Breakfast is great and in super cosy atmosphere with wood crackling in the wood-burning stove

I'd say 4.5 out of 5. A lovely looking Refugio in the valley., the dorms were spacious with good mattress though the duvet's were just a thin blanket and it was pretty cold at night. The experience could have been better. Staff were sparse with them trying to serve guests (when they could) and looking after their children. The bar staff who eventually checked us in lacked any customer service skills coming across as moody. We asked to pay for a private room and were instantly told no, they were full which later was blatantly incorrect as we saw numerous empty rooms. The dinner was pretty good, full of flavor, serving a well needed salad buffet, but let down a bit by the main which was a meat dish that comprised 90% fat and bones and 10% meat. The breakfast to be fair was amazing with a plethora of things to choose from and gave hikers full bellies and calories to get them through a days hike. For some reason guests were locked in the rooms/stairwell area and you couldn't get into the main bar area until a certain time. Not ideal if you're up early and want to relax away from sleeping hikers.

Amazing food! So welcome for hungry hikers. The flavours were outstanding and the breakfast was by far the best we've had. Everything you could want and more and continually restocked. Sadly the service was poor - miserable staff and we were herded into a cramped 12-bed dormitory with no hanging space and smelly toilets/drains. The toilet roll ran out before morning because there was so little. No snacks except chocolate to buy which was very poor for a refugio on a main road where hikers have spent the last four days on a trail with no road access or provisions.
