The Wheelhouse

Service n/a. Out of season trip for Valentine's weekend. We only spent a night here but the clean cosy room looked out onto the harbour...so really lovely! Very convenient location for places to eat, things to do. 24hr public parking a short walk away, near the lighthouse.

After paying online in advance for the stay, I got informed that the hotel is unmanned, restaurant closed, no breakfast available, and neither a possibility to leave one case in the hotel for 2 hours on the day of departure. After various fruitless emails back- and forwards a very obliging and helpful Libby relpied, that she could prepare me a coffee and a cake in the morning, and I could also deposit the case with her in the Wheelhouse Cafe.

If you're in Mevagissey - go here!! Really lovely atmospheric place, wonderful decor and atmosphere. Very friendly owner and family who are polite and courteous, menus are fresh and local, cakes are cooked by 'granny'! A wonderful family affair, food is lovely and reasonably priced, there's an outside area and they have rooms to let. All of this right on the harbourside at Mevagissey - what's not to like?! We will definitely be returning.
