Maison Lacase, located in vibrant Saint-Servan, is a convenient base for exploring Saint-Malo and its surroundings. It’s within walking distance of Saint-Malo intra-muros and ‘la cité d’Alet’, with restaurants, a bi-weekly food market, bakeries, and specialty shops nearby. Vibrant, unlike other area’s like Paramé that feel a bit deserted in the off-season. Maison Lacase offers renovated historic charm and modern comfort, along with excellent hospitality from the hosts Frédérique, Philippe and their friendly companion Soda. Breakfasts feature fresh, local homemade products and daily surprises. The ideal choice for a stay in the area.

I had a great stay in Frédérique & Philippe’s beautiful house. Their guest-house is a 19th century building, full of charm, very nicely renovated and decorated (good representation of 'charme discret à la française'). I stayed in the Marguerite room which is a bit aside of the main building, thus very quiet, with a nice view on the garden and accessible independently. I was even given the choice of my bed linens and opted for hemp sheets (made in Britanny) which I found much smoother than I had originally thought. I slept like a baby. Breakfast on the beautiful common wooden table (or on the terrasse if the weather allows) is very good, with a variety of local products changing each morning. Everything is well-thought, with the effort of promoting local and sustainable products (some of them being sold by Frédérique in her little ’shop cabinet’; I personally fell for a home fragrance). The house is very well located in the neighbourhood of Saint-Servan, at 15 minutes walk from the old town of Saint-Malo, with very nice local shops and a food market (open on Tuesdays; don’t miss the fish market). The seafront and a beach, with a few nice restaurants and cafés (and crêperies ;), are easily accessible by foot. The area allows to have a glimpse on the locals’ life, less touristy that in the old town, which I appreciated. Frédérique and Phlippe are very kind and will be happy to make you enjoy your stay and answer any questions you may have. This is the advantage of staying in a guest-house of such quality rather than in a hotel: you can get personalised and unique advice from the owners who are locals and ‘in love’ with their environment. I will definitely come back next time I visit the region!

We had a lovely stay at Maison La-case. The house is a great base from which to visit S Malo and the surrounding area. It is an interesting building with a good garden. The accommodation is very comfortable, the breakfasts delicious and healthy and the host helpful and "tres genial"!
