Hotel Costabella

Stayed during the alta via 2 trek. Amazing hospitality and delicious food. The staff are the best and so helpful always. The saunas and spa area is a rare opportunity to pamper myself during the long hike.

We spent one night at this hotel during our trek. Our room was in the annex, and honestly, the annex building felt a lot less nice than the main hotel, which looked absolutely beautiful. That said, our room was comfortable and quiet. Dinner was a mixed experience. The salad buffet was amazing, so many fresh options, and after several days on the Alta Via, it felt great to eat real veggies. The rest of the menu was creative, but unfortunately, every dish lacked seasoning. For example, we had duck as a main course with a raspberry sauce, but there were just a few drops of sauce on the plate, nowhere near enough to bring the dish together. A bit disappointing. For dessert, we could choose between a cheese plate or a regular dessert. The cheese plate was excellent, and I also really enjoyed the dessert. Breakfast the next morning was generous, with lots of varie, even scrambled eggs and bacon, which we hadn’t had in a long time! There was also a wellness area with a sauna, steam room, and an emotional shower. That was perfect for us since we were about halfway through the trek. It made for a very welcome rest day. Overall, we were very happy with our stay.

Spa/sauna. Amazing. Dinner. Incredible. I wouldn't bother eating anywhere else, honestly - it was fabulous (and everywhere else in town is meh). Also, friendly staff (front desk man was so sweet!)
