Aux Fées Des Grèves

Very charming small B&B. Owner was very friendly, making sure all was in order. Breakfast was very good and my dietary needs were met. It's about a 18 minutes drive to the shuttle to Mont Saint Michel in a quiet village.

Disturbing experience. Never, I repeat, NEVER, have I arrived at a place booked to sleep and have breakfast (in this case, it was supposed to be for two nights) and found NOBODY!! I called the cell phone and no one answered. I rang the doorbell several times and then realized the door was open but there was no one inside. Seeing my concern, some neighbors came to the rescue. They also looked for the owner and, after quite a while, managed to speak to him on the phone. Then the neighbor showed us to a room and told us to use the aforementioned room... I was shocked. All this at 6:00 PM. The neighbors also kindly helped us find a restaurant. When we returned from the restaurant, we found the owner clearly upset; he had probably been partying too much. During the night, the noises were disturbing (I discovered that the owner sleeps inside the building, and my husband and I were the only "guests"). It was a situation I would describe as tragicomic theater. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED. Of course, I didn't spend the second night there, but I decided to lose my money and have peace of mind. CRAZY
