Alpenhotel Karwendel - zertifiziertes Wellnesshotel für Erwachsene

We spent two wonderful weeks at this hotel over Christmas and New Year, and it was a truly lovely experience. The direct access to the cross-country ski tracks was a great plus and made our stay even more enjoyable. The hotel is a true oasis of relaxation. The calm atmosphere throughout the property, also during meals, allowed us to fully unwind after a very busy year. The wellness area, with its different saunas, was perfect for relaxing after a day outdoors. The food was very good throughout our stay, with great variety, very good desserts! What really made our holiday unforgettable was the warm, family-like feeling. You genuinely feel welcomed and cared for. A big thank you to the entire staff, who were always kind, smiling, and attentive. Christmas Eve was especially memorable. Singing Christmas carol together with the staff and other guests was something truly unique and something I have never experienced in any other hotel and it made the evening special. A special thank you to our dear Petra, who took such wonderful care of us every evening with warmth and professionalism. She truly added something extra to our dinners. Overall, a fantastic experience and a place we would happily return to. Highly recommended.

This wonderful, high quality and relaxing hotel is run by a professional, friendly team who are on a mission to ensure that their guests feel comfortable, welcome and that they enjoy themselves. I enjoyed fantastic food, a beautiful panorama pool (part of a really well designed and beautifully maintained wellness area) and hiking around the magical landscape. The hotel will even loan you trekking poles and a rucksack. I felt welcomed by staff (and other guests) from the moment I checked in to the time I said goodbye to the hotel shuttle driver at Mittenwald station. This was a solo trip for me, but I never felt lonely! Update March 2026 My second visit to this wonderful hotel was even better - something I didn’t believe was possible! Everything remains very comfortable, the whole team remains dedicated to ensuring that guests enjoy a relaxed, sustainable experience with as much (or as little) activity as they want. The hotel’s location, just a few metres from the cross country loipe is perfect. The snow here is the best in the Leutasch valley. This week has seen warm spring temperatures, yet the snow quality (and quantity) has remained good. For me, this meant skiing in the morning, walking in the afternoon followed by relaxation in the pool and spa. A perfect holiday! The food produced in the Karwendel is, if possible, even more magical. It is hard to understand how they manage to produce food of this quality every day, using fresh and local ingredients which are combined in innovative ways to produce wonderful dishes, served by the friendly, hardworking and dedicated team including Robert, Petra and Zina. This is the place where you can completely relax. The staff is very friendly and helpful, food is delicious and the location of the hotel is a great start for hiking. The saunas are professional. Did I mention the view? It is amazing. Just have a look on photos.
