Assynt Field Centre Ltd

Nice hostel with friendly staff. The location was super nice and remote. It was close to a lot of hiking trails and had a lot of regulars. The showers and toilets were clean and nice. The beds were a bit hard and the room smelled a bit, but since it is a hostel with 8 man rooms, that's fair and not their fault. Great if you're into hiking

Stayed one night in dorms as part of a roadtrip - not hiking. Facilities were top notch for self-catering. Multiple ovens and stove tops and all cooling utensils provided. Friendly welcome and a quick tour. Not really their fault, but the midges were horrendous and snuck into the building quite easily, making the showers a bit rough. Linen was provided and clean. Excellent location for trekking and sunset access to the nearby castle ruins. Also, it's an old hunting lodge, which is just cool!

Decent enough hostel, shower room was well used, but overall okay. Advertised WiFi was unreliable to say the least, but it is in the middle of the Highlands, so is understandable. Good spot. Drying room available.
