La Sorpresa

Our time at La Sorpresa was a true delight! This beautiful B&B has a picture postcard view down to a white-walled village and stunning mountains, and the rooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces are beautifully and thoughtfully designed. Katrien and Patrick are wonderful hosts--friendly and welcoming and full of information. They really take care of their guests. Breakfasts are beautiful, and if you're there on a night with dinner, it's a delicious gathering. What a treat to sit across the table with other guests and share Katrien's home-cooked meal. This corner of Andalucia is a great spot for hiking and exploring, and there's no better base than La Sorpresa. It was the highlight of our three-week journey through Spain. As soon as we arrived, we knew we'd landed someplace special, and we extended our stay as long as we could. It's just that fabulous.

Katrien and Patrick, the soul and heart of La Sorpresa along with their two dog soulmates Rose & Syl, made us feel like home during our one week stay in Andalucia. The location, the services, the food, the atmosphere when all guests gathered during dinners around the same table on the terrace, which is overlooking Valle de Abdalajis and the surroundings, were just perfect. La Sorpresa is a spotless B&B, situated on a hill above the white Valle de Abdalajis village (pueblo blanco). The bed was very confortable. All bedrooms are situated at the upper floor, having wifi, large bathroom, and are situated above the kitchen area and the terrace and they all have a marvelous view towards the surroundings. Parking is large enough to accommodate all the cars of the guests. La Sorpresa is a quiet location which is very close on road to Malaga, Antequera and also some very famous hiking trails (El Torcal and Caminito del Rey) or Lobo Park which we encourage you to visit. From La Sorpresa we could easily reach many other destinations of Andalucia via a rented car.
