The Longboat Inn

Nice stay in a lovely pub hotel. The hotel is conveniently located close to the harbour which has reasonable rates for 24 hour parking. The room itsself was a bit worn, basic and dated and could use a renovation but it had everything I needed for a one night stay although please note like many pub hotels there is no lift. The staff were very friendly and warm and had a lovely chat with a bunch of them. The bar itsself has a wide selection of beers although has a low ceiling so if you are tall like me you will notice right away! The food was good i ordered the fish goujons and they were very tasty as was the complimentary full English breakfast plus other options like juice and yoghurt. Overall I would stay here again if I'm passing through the area!

I went there for lunch, and immediately sensed that the bar staff were rather disinterested. Enquired if there was a table free, and the person behind the bar never even looked at me, as he was to busy on the computer! Suffice to say, the interior is quite impressive, and absolutely spotless, so high marks there. Good menu selection, and i chose fish, chips & peas. The piece of fish was enormous, however, the chips were rather dry. Compared to other pubs in the town, they are cheaper for this particular meal. The toilet facilities were very clean, so again, high marks there. Unfortunately, the attitude of the staff left me thinking on my way out; will i go there again? Hmmm, probably not!

We were made very welcome by Ryan and his team. Minutes from Penzance Train Station. A lovely sunrise sea view from our bedroom Room No 1 and the most comfortable beds w've slept in a hotel.
