We popped in for lunch and a pint today and it was so lovely! Both servers we had the pleasure of dealing with were fabulous, super chatty and loved our doggies, giving them lots of love and treats. Had the sausage and mash, the chicken ciabatta and two pints of Guinness and it was just what we needed after a long walk. Thank you team!

The only good thing about this place is the view and location, if you want something in the center of Coniston. It is also next door to a really good Indian restaurant called Sara’s. Would have actually preferred to book elsewhere but most places were full, now I know why there was room at the Inn! It is a shambles here. The rooms in the Yewdale Inn are very tired, worn and shabby. There are significant plumbing issues, we were moved from one room because the toilet was continuously running and on the verge of overflowing. They did move us to a second room but the second room was also a dump, and also had issues with the plumbing. Toilet flushed but, again, was on the verge of overflowing. The basin taps did not work well either, no hot water and a trickle coming out of each one. The bed was very itchy. If you do decide to stay here, (I would not ever want to experience this place again) I would say to bring your own pillows, towels and slippers as the carpets are horrible. Also pyjamas. In fact, just wear a hazmat suit. Breakfast was allegedly included, but of course there was a problem with that too. It was supposed to be served at 8.30am and we were told there would be an hour and a half delay as they were waiting on a chef. Other customers were asking for refunds and told that the manager “might” give them a partial refund on the elusive breakfast, but he wasn’t in until “10/11am” all very vague, surely you would know when staff are due in? Very disappointing experience from start to finish. No parking facilities but that was the least of the issues. I honestly can’t believe that this place has any positive reviews whatsoever, and the photos must be old because it is very run down. Maybe the positive reviews are from all of the dog owners (I love dogs) who like to let their pets sit on the actual human chairs in the bar area.

Should start by saying that we were there on a miserable, wet, Sunday, mid afternoon in November. So, this review may not reflect a normal time, as it was very, very quiet, therefore lacked atmosphere. We had 4 different Sunday Roasts (chicken, pork, lamb & a beef) and 3 out of 4 were very good, the beef not so! All accompanyments were good. A big disappointing was only having one one real ale on.
