Marros Mountain Camping

Booked and spoke to owners wife turned up set up for the week also asked wife if we could put tent up next to caravan instead of struggling with awning as my daughter and 2 grandkids would be joining us for a few days and my husband finds it hard with his arthritis she said no problem. Having set up relaxing the owner (husband came banging on the caravan door like a bailiff) obviously not expecting anyone to be camping on his land wanting his cash and obviously had not been told by his wife we had booked) we again asked him if it's alright to put the tent up next to caravan and explained that our grandkids would be joining us for a couple of nights ( at this point the tent was not up) and he said yes that's fine and it's £25 per night, so i paid £175 for 7 nights and that although the kids were coming only for 2 or 3 nights we might have an extra week depending on the weather, all was fine as far as I knew, the tent went up in readiness and a few days later he came around for more money and charged me £20 per night for the tent they arrived 6pm on Fri night and left Monday night about 7.30pm he also denied agreeing to us putting the tent up which left a bitter taste and took the shine off our holiday, I don't like being called a liar, we decided not to have another week cut our loses and come home, the site is peacefull well kept and clean and I feel that this occurred due to lack of communication between the owner and his wife or he was pissed when he originally agreed we could put the tent up otherwise why didn't he charge me for the tent when I paid £175.00 on day 1 for the caravan, what I didn't like was the total denial and being called a liar I was happy to pay for the kids coming down but it was his attitude that ruined our stay, don't let my experience put you off its a lovely site in a beautiful part of the country just clarify terms before you travel this was not our first visit to this site last year we had no problem. It certainly wasn't about the money but his attitude

Absolutely perfect campsite in beautiful countryside. Richard and his family are lovely and the static caravan was an absolute godsend in very wet weather with all the facilities you need in it! Thanks Richard! 🌞

1st time caravannig. Site is well kept, clean and location is ideal for local beaches. Definitely coming back.
