Skye Basecamp Hostel

I stayed at the Skye Basecamp hostel back in May, which is owned by Mike and Cat. The hostel is a great, very welcoming, warm and great environment to meet like minded people wanting to hike and explore Skye. The place is clean and has good facilities like a drying room, laundry facilities, well equipped kitchen and you can buy maps and guides to plan your adventures. The hostel team gave some good advice as well. The hostel is connected to Skye guides, whom I did a day out in the mountains with, which was a fantastic experience. Overall just a great experience with such friendly people with a wealth of experience and operating in a safe manner. Thanks so much to Mike, James, Cat and Innes for making my trip so Great. Honestly you can tell this hostel is loved by and made for true outdoorsy people. There is just a wholesome, loving vibe to the whole building and community. The staff were fantastic, including a beautiful friendly dog. Fully equipped kitchen, brilliant rooms with everything you'd need. Would definitely stay again!

I had an amazing stay at Basecamp! The staff were absolutely excellent — always friendly, helpful, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure guests felt comfortable. The facilities were great too; I especially enjoyed the pool table in the common area and the convenient on-site laundry. My room was tidy, spotless, and exactly as shown in the photos — no misleading images here, which was such a pleasant surprise. And, of course, a special mention goes to Cleodi, the Basecamp mascot — the sweetest, most gentle pup who made the place feel even more welcoming. A special thanks goes to the lady who checked us in (terrible sorry, can't remember the name) who so friendly welcomed us in Portuguese which was a surprise. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting!
